Hometown Elegance began serving Minot May 1, 2009. It was started as a hobby business by our founder, Carl Clemetson. Carl was unsatisfied in his job at the time and was frustrated with all of the catering in Minot. He believe Minot Deserved Better and began building a business that would serve Minot in a better way. That has expanded to beyond catering to our other services and our other communities. Whether that community is in Devils Lake to Sidney, MT or from Lincoln, ND to the International Peace Gardens; we believe all of our clients deserve better and that's what we strive for.

Carl Clemetson

Senior Event Producer/Founder

Carl is a 15 year veteran of the North Dakota event industry and brain behind Hometown Elegance. What started out as just temporarily covering the catering manager position for a collegue has led him to create a business operation to best serve his clients. From launching the first non restaurant based catering operation in the Minot region that has grown to now include event rentals, linens, lighting, drapery, full decor, tents, and photo booth. Starting in 2020, Carl will hold his diploma certification for wedding planning and design from the International Wedding Academy based in the UK. 

Barb Clemetson

Billing & Team Coordinator

If Carl is the brain, then Barb is the heart of Hometown Elegance. She has been with the company from day one and has helped make our clients visions come to life. She now serves as our billing and team coordinator to help make each of our clients events run all that much more smoothly. Barb is also the manager for Forever Fitness, one of Minot's locally owned fitness centers that's open 24 hours a day for their community of members. She's a gardening enthusiast and builds a large garden each season.
